Dom grew up privileged, but he fell out with his family when he was eighteen. He hasn’t spoken to them for more than twelve years.
Eventually, he made his way to Oxford University, where he read philosophy and economics at Magdalen College and met Thea. During his fourth term, he and Thea uncovered a malevolent plot by one of their professors. With the help of Luke Winters, traveling in Europe after his time in the marines, Dom and Thea wound up putting an end to the professor, but they also got themselves kicked out of Oxford.
Newly committed to the hunt, Dom persuaded Thea to go with him to the United States. There, they enrolled at Stanford University, finishing up their undergraduate and then professional graduate degrees.
Casual observers may miss Dom’s serious, and perhaps a little saddened, edge. He savors almost every earthly delight. He never passes on the chance to flirt, loves a good laugh, relishes witty conversation and imbibes any kind of alcohol (though he tries to drink only moderately).
He readily admits that he takes a pragmatic approach to the hunt and life in general. For him, justice is a cold and often relentless calculus that turns on making sure that as many people as possible can have as much good as possible in their lives.
